rod Stewart Has canceled a tour date at the last minute after suffering from a viral infection.
The singer was scheduled to perform in Geelong, Australia for the latest date of his A Day on the Green Tour.

“Live Nation and Roundhouse Entertainment regret to announce that tonight’s performance by Rod Stewart, Cyndi Lauper and John Stevens at Mount Duneed Estate, Geelong will not go ahead due to illness,” it read.
“We apologize for the disappointment and inconvenience to ticket holders. A further announcement regarding concert arrangements will be made early next week.
All three artists – Stewart, Lauper and Stevens – shared the same statement on social media. Lauper wrote with the announcement, “Reposting from Sir Rod Stewart.”
In a follow-up Instagram post, Stewart elaborated on the reason for the cancellation.
He wrote, ‘Hello my friends. “I’m absolutely gutted that I’m letting my fans down who bought tickets for A Day on the Green. Late this morning I was told I’ve got a viral infection and my throat is too sore to sing Has been
“I’m only human and get sick like you sometimes. My greatest joy is performing for you, so I’m doing everything I can to get well and get back on stage.”
Last month, Stewart was filmed visiting an NHS hospital where he Paid for a day of scans for other patients to cut down on the waiting list,
During a live segment on Sky News after vowing to pay for the scans, the rocker said he wanted to “prove I’m not all mouth and trousers”.
Stewart, 77, recently returned from a scan himself.
Stewart in January called on Britain’s Conservative government to step down Amid the ongoing NHS crisis.
During Sky News’ “Your Say” segment he said, “I’ve personally been a Tory for a long time but I think this government must now stand down and the Labor Party must go, it’s heartbreaking Is.”
