Former Chief Financial Advisor Arvind Virmani has been appointed as a full-time member of NITI Aayog, based on an official notification.
Arvind Virmani served because the Chief Financial Advisor within the finance ministry (2007-2009).
“The Prime Minister has authorized the appointment of Shri Arvind Virmani, Founder, Chairman, Basis for Financial Development & Welfare as Full-Time Member, NITI Aayog with instant impact and till additional orders, on the identical phrases and situations as are relevant to Full-Time Members of NITI Aayog,” the Cupboard Secretariat’s notification stated.
He served as a member of the Technical Advisory Committee of the Reserve Financial institution of India (RBI) on Financial Coverage from February 2013 to August 2016.
He was the Govt Director on the Worldwide Financial Fund (IMF) until end-2012, representing India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Bhutan.
